You need a Certificate for your Language Skills

Information on Examinations
In order to work, be trained in a profession or study in Germany, usually proof of language skills is required.
Depending on the profession, A2 is sufficient, for example for logistics specialists, bus or truck drivers. Nursing staff and skilled trades require B2, as more communication with customers is necessary in these industries. Doctors and psychologists need C1 for their license to practice or admission to the professional association.
B2 is also required for vocational training or university studies. However, some universities require even C1.
There are two major providers of German language certificates: the Goethe-Institut and telc, which have different focuses but are equally recognized. GaLaLea does not currently offer exams in-house, but prepares students for both Goethe and telc exams. However, we are aiming to become a telc examination center.
For Japanese language skills, there is also a series of exams from N5 to N1 established by the Japanese Ministry of Education. These exams can also be taken in many centers all over the world – also in Germany.
Below, we summarize the exam dates for German and Japanese available in Germany and provide links to the exam institution’s websites.
German Exams - 1. Goethe Institute

The Goethe Institute, established with state support, is the best known place for German Exams throughout the world. In addition to cultural events, they primarily offer language courses and exams at all levels.
The 12 Goethe Institutes in Germany and around the world offer one or two exams at each of the levels almost every month of the year. In addition to the institutes themselves, there are also many cooperation partners worldwide where exams are held.
The TestDaF format, which covers levels B2-C1, is also an option for studying in Germany.
The exam includes multiple-choice questions on reading and listening comprehension, writing texts, and an oral exam. In some cases, these individual parts can also be booked as modules and repeated individually if not passed.

German Exams - 2. Telc (The European Language Certificate)
The second major provider of German language exams that can also be taken outside Germany is Telc. Here, too, exams are available for each of the six levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. Telc also offers exams in many other languages, such as English, French, Spanish, etc.
As with the Goethe Certificate, the skills tested here are reading comprehension, listening comprehension, writing, and speaking. However, there is also an increased opportunity to take the exam digitally and remotely at home.
Of particular interest here are the specifications for work, school, nursing, and technology among the German exams.
